I am totally mesmerised by the most recent addition to my nail polish collection.
OPI have released a fabulously fun collection for the holiday season - The Muppets Collection
I chose Rainbow Connection, the most sparkly one of them all, which resembles a disco ball in a bottle - hard to resist! I believe it is almost identical to Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday, but is considerably easier to get hold of, and kinder to your bank balance.
I layered it over 2 coats of Barry M Foil Effects in Gold, and finished with one coat of Seche Vite.
There are plenty of ways to use this polish to achieve different effects. It does need a thicker top coat, as the glitter particles are quite chunky, and when they are layered it creates a rather rough texture.
I tend to apply glitter polishes with a 'dab-n-blend' type technique, so rather than applying it in many coats to get even glitter coverage, I just dab the polish to distribute the glitter where I want it, and then pull one last coat over the top to smooth. I filed my nails short for this polish, as it is such a bold statement, I felt it would be a bit OTT on longer nails, although a glitter blend would look spectacular for anyone with longer nails who likes the look of this polish.
So far (after 2 days of wear), this has not budged at all - no chips or tip wear. It is incredibly hard to capture the full effect of this polish in a photograph. This is an amazing polish, and an absolute must have for the party season. Check out the whole collection - I think I might have to get them all! Definitely the best Holiday collection to be released this year, closely followed by China Glaze who have gone for a more traditional Christmas themed collection of polishes.
Hope you like! Love Edie xx
Rainbow Connection currently retails at £10.50 and is available here.
